DS Virgin Racing completes move to new headquarters at Enterprise Zone

Leading Formula E team DS Virgin Racing has completed the move of its operational arm to new state-of-the-art facilities at Silverstone Park Enterprise Zone – a stone’s throw from Silverstone Circuit, the home of British motor racing.

The UK-based team, which has competed in the all-electric FIA Formula E Championship since its inception, moved in last summer in preparation for the category’s fourth season but has now put the finishing touches to the new premises.

Delta Motorsport’s EV know-how helps create amazing supercar at Enterprise Zone

Cutting edge electric vehicle technology designed and developed at Silverstone Park Enterprise Zone, has been used to help create one of the world’s fastest accelerating and most advanced supercars.

Ariel’s new 1180bhp, four-wheel-drive electric two-seater ‘P40’ was unveiled at last year’s Low Carbon Vehicles show. Ariel believes the car will be capable of accelerating from 0-60mph in 2.4 seconds and 0-150mph in 7.8 seconds.

Much of this performance is down to highly complex technology derived by Silverstone Park-based low carbon vehicle specialist Delta Motorsport – this includes a high power 42kWh liquid-cooled battery.

Stamp of approval for Aylesbury Woodlands

Buckinghamshire Advantage, the delivery arm of Buckinghamshire Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership (BTVLEP), is delighted with the outcome of today’s decision (26th October) by Aylesbury Vale District Council to give the green light to the outline planning application for the Aylesbury Woodlands development.

Aylesbury Woodlands, part of the Aylesbury Vale Enterprise Zone, is an extensive site to the east of Aylesbury, which will include commercial premises, road infrastructure, housing and leisure facilities.

Lift off for revolutionary space rockets testbed

Construction is underway at Buckinghamshire Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership’s Enterprise Zone at Westcott Venture Park, to create a new facility for Reaction Engines to test its revolutionary Synergetic Air‐Breathing Rocket Engine (SABRE), which is designed to unlock the future of space travel and hypersonic flight.

Owner, Rockspring Property Investment Managers LLP (“Rockspring”), is developing six acres of the 650-acre site, which is between Bicester and Aylesbury for a new test facility and assembly building for Reaction Engines Limited. This is the first milestone in a two-year development pipeline which will enable tests of the core of the revolutionary air-breathing rocket engine to begin in 2020.

The ambitions of Aylesbury Woodlands one step closer

Buckinghamshire Advantage, the delivery arm of Buckinghamshire Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership (BTVLEP), has today (6th April) submitted amendments to its outline planning application for the Aylesbury Woodlands site, which includes additional content to improve further the Aylesbury Woodlands offer to ensure it meets the needs of the local population, business and the environment.

Aylesbury Woodlands, part of the Aylesbury Vale Enterprise Zone, is an extensive site to the east of Aylesbury, and is proposed to include commercial premises, road infrastructure, housing and leisure facilities.

Westcott 5G Resilient Communications Centre

The Satellite Applications Catapult, supported by the Buckinghamshire & Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership, is establishing a 5G Resilient Communications Centre at the Westcott Venture Park in Buckinghamshire. The Centre will give platform and applications developers access to the latest 5G equipment without having to make a substantial upfront investment in expensive infrastructure, allowing them to rapidly prototype and commission new services and applications under representative real-world conditions ahead of market roll-out. The Westcott Centre will work closely with the 5G Innovation Centre based at the University of Surrey to ensure strategic alignment and adoption of common standards.

Technology Cluster to benefit from Silverstone Park Enterprise Zone status

The UK Government has awarded Silverstone Park ‘Enterprise Zone’ status which could save companies locating to the high-tech business estate more than £250,000 in rates relief across the next five years.

The status was approved following a successful bid to Government by  Buckinghamshire Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership (BTVLEP) and Silverstone Park developer MEPC.
